WordBanker is a program for learning and practicing a vocabulary of up to 12 different languages in a fun, interactive form. The program has a very simple interface in which you are presented with a list of the languages available. You need to choose which language(s) want to study, and then download and install the language modules. Once you have done this, you can start choosing the word lists you want to study. Each list consists of 20 words divided into topics, such as the human body, food, clothes, time, and commonly used words and phrases, like greetings and courtesy phrases. In each list, the program shows the word or phrase you need to translate. You can choose your answer from the word list in the target language. Once you have done this, the correct answer appears at the top of the screen and a voice reads it aloud. If this was the answer you selected, then a credit is given to you.
This first round finishes when you have been tested in all the 20 words. In the second round, you will be tested only the words which you got wrong in the first round. The process repeats until you choose all the right answers. If you find a word that is especially difficult, you can send it to a "hotlist" to be practiced more intensely. An interesting feature is the possibility to record your own voice saying the words you want to learn and to compare your pronunciation with the recorded voice. Also, you can print the word lists and their translation.
All in all, this is a useful language learning tool, but it can be somewhat expensive for some people. You can try the program with all its features for 7 days before purchasing.
Word Magic Translator provides automatic, context-sensitive translation.
